ABOUT ME
I am Tommy's Mum.
I am a mum to living and lost children. I have walked the path of fertility challenges and baby loss, and continue to grieve the death of my children.
My journey with loss has taught me many lessons. In some ways, grief has made me a better person, a more grateful parent, and wiser in my work. Of course, all of these learnings came at too high a price. In other ways, my grief has also left some emotional scars.
I am a Clinical Psychologist based in New South Wales, Australia. Before my own experience of loss I was blissfully naïve to how grief touches on every corner of our psychological life. I now know how the roots of grief bury deep into the core of our being. It confronts us with existential questions of identity, purpose and mortality, changing the biological landscape of our brains, and shaking the foundations of our relationships.
I have explored this grief from every angle; feeling, reading, reflecting, learning and listening. I have integrated these lessons of loss into a self-help book that I plan to publish. I hope my writings are a helpful support to those who share this journey.
